About Dark River Coaching
Life can corner you in ways that don’t show up in job descriptions or performance reviews. I spent twenty years in high-pressure corporate banking environments where the expectations were constant but the meaning was thin. I learned how to navigate complex systems, manage risk, build teams, deliver under pressure, and solve problems that had no clear answers. I also learned what happens when you try to build a life by following a script that never fit.
My career succeeded on paper. Internally, the cost was high. I pushed through shifting priorities, political maneuvering, unspoken rules, and environments where productivity mattered more than people. I kept adapting because that was the only option offered. Eventually the gap between what I was doing and who I actually am became too wide to ignore. The result was a kind of collapse that forced a different question. Not “How do I keep going?” but “Who am I if I stop pretending this is the only path?”
That moment changed everything. I stepped back from the career I had built, reevaluated the assumptions I had been carrying since childhood, and started dismantling the internal systems that were keeping me exhausted, anxious, and constantly scanning for the next fire to put out. What emerged wasn’t a reinvention. It was recovery of something already there. A capacity for clarity, pattern recognition, sincerity, and honest problem solving. Skills I had always used for companies but never for myself.
Coaching grew naturally out of that work. I realized how many people move through life with the same tension I carried. Capable on the outside. Depleted on the inside. Intelligent but stuck. Responsible but disconnected. Unsure how to make real changes without blowing up the life they’ve built.
My approach is straightforward. I help you see the system you are operating in, understand the patterns driving your decisions, and identify where your energy is being drained or misaligned. We work with your actual experience, not a template. The goal isn’t temporary motivation. It’s structural clarity. You learn how to build a life that matches who you are, not who you’ve been conditioned to be.
I work best with people who are intelligent, self aware, and tired of carrying everything alone. People in career transitions. People unraveling long standing stress patterns. People who want meaning and direction but don’t want to abandon their responsibilities. People rethinking their identity after a shock, loss, or systems failure. People who feel like they are living two lives and want them to be the same.
What I bring to coaching comes from both practice and lived experience:
Twenty years in Fortune 100 environments spanning insurance, national and international banking, and private law practice at a national firm.
Two decades of rigorous contemplative practice in both Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism.
Direct experience with burnout, anxiety, identity disruption, and rebuilding a sustainable life from the inside out.
A long track record of helping people think clearly, make grounded decisions, and navigate complex personal and professional transitions
International Coaching Federation accreditation in process
